Vacancy: Universal Credit Help to Claim Adviser

Main base: Skegness

Work locations could include our other offices at Louth and Mablethorpe and Job Centre Plus offices, travel expenses paid.

Hours: 30 hours per week, either four or five days across the week, hours to be agreed.

Salary: Starting salary grade circa £19K dependent on skills and experience.

If fully competent in all aspects of the role then we are happy to discuss salary grade further.

Fixed term contract: Currently until March 2021, but this could be extended.

We are looking for an adviser with good IT skills to support clients to make and complete their new Universal Credit claim, as well as making a commitment to the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice Service. If you feel you have transferable skills and the potential to carry out the role with support and development, please apply.

You’ll have the ability to interview clients using sensitive listening and questioning skills to get to the root of the issues and empower clients, whilst maintaining structure and control of meetings.

You’ll have the ability to manage own time well and work independently away from the main base at our other offices and in partnership with Job Centre Plus.

Universal Credit (UC) is the fastest growing advice issue for the Citizens Advice service and Local Citizens Advice offices everywhere and improving the support available to people making a claim is vital.

Citizens Advice now delivers a new service called “Universal Support: Help to Claim” which offers end-to-end support to help people make a new Universal Credit claim and be ready for when their first payment arrives.
